Resource Dispatcher - Patient & Community Transport

About the role

St John WA, a not-for-profit healthcare provider serving Western Australia since 1922, is looking for a Resource Dispatcher to join its Patient & Community Transport Services Team in Belmont on a casual basis. The dispatcher coordinates and dispatches transport crews so that on-road personnel, including staff and volunteers, are well supported in delivering safe, timely and reliable services. The communication centre operates between 6am and 10pm, and candidates are rostered to shifts within those hours.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and dispatch transport crews, allocating the right resources to meet booked pick-up times and service requirements
• Monitor vehicle and crew movements and manage operational changes
• Maintain accurate information across patient transfer and dispatch systems
• Manage daily response times and KPIs
• Allocate resources efficiently to maximise service delivery
• Support on-road personnel and act as a key point of contact

Required profile

• Experience in dispatch, logistics, fleet or resource coordination (highly desirable)
• Able to work independently in a shift-work environment
• Knowledge of the WA health system (desirable)

Required skills

• Strong organisational, problem-solving and time-management skills
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Confident using multiple systems, including MS Office
