Residential Engineer

About the role

Intrax Consulting Engineers is expanding its medium‑density housing practice across Australia. As a Residential Engineer you will deliver high‑quality structural designs for homes, townhouses, community centres and light‑commercial projects while supporting client relationships and mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Produce innovative structural designs and documentation for medium to large residential and low‑rise projects.
• Assist with client and stakeholder management across multiple disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support account management activities to enhance client satisfaction and repeat business.
• Mentor graduate and junior engineers in line with Intrax standards.
• Promote a client‑focused culture emphasizing responsiveness, professionalism and on‑time delivery.
• Gain exposure to more complex multi‑level and light‑commercial projects as capabilities grow.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 1–3 years post‑graduate structural design experience in the residential or building sector.
• Experience designing timber, reinforced concrete and steel structures, including waffle, raft and suspended slabs and retaining walls.
• Strong understanding of Australian Standards and the NCC (AS2870, AS1684, AS1170, AS3600, AS4100).
• Ability to build rapport with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
