Residential Care Cook

About the role

Anglicare is looking for a Residential Care Cook for its Mildred Symons House in Jannali. You will lead and support kitchen operations to prepare nutritious, high-quality meals for residents, working closely with the Hospitality team to ensure food safety, a positive team culture and a welcoming dining experience in line with Anglicare's Christian values. This is a permanent part-time role, reporting to the Servery Supervisor, with shifts on Monday, Thursday and Friday from 08:00 to 16:00.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and prepare healthy meals to a high standard and within budget, meeting production and distribution deadlines.
• Direct, monitor, train and coordinate subordinate staff in a timely, economical and efficient way.
• Maintain safe work practices, including HACCP and WHS policies, and report hazards, incidents and near misses.
• Keep the workplace clean and hygienic, including cleaning equipment, floors and work areas and managing waste.
• Check ingredients and monitor preparation, cooking and storage to maintain food quality.
• Provide on-the-job training, give regular feedback and support staff development.
• Promote Anglicare's Christian values and respect for all people, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Required profile

• Workplace Health and Hygiene qualifications.
• Minimum 2 years of food industry experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
