Research Fellow – Cancer Patient-Reported Outcomes

About the role

The Eastern Health Clinical School is seeking a Research Fellow to join an internationally collaborative EORTC‑funded project focused on cancer patient‑reported outcomes (PROs). The role offers a hybrid work arrangement and will contribute to improving the measurement and understanding of patient experiences in cancer care.

Key responsibilities

• Support all project phases including protocol development, ethics submissions, data collection and stakeholder engagement.
• Manage multi‑site collaboration with partners in Europe, Monash University and the University of Copenhagen.
• Design and deliver studies, conduct quantitative analysis and psychometric evaluation of PRO data.
• Disseminate findings through peer‑reviewed publications and conference presentations.
• Mentor junior researchers and engage with professional networks.

Required profile

• Strong quantitative research and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
• Doctoral qualification or progress towards a doctorate in psychology, psychometrics, biostatistics, public health, medical science, medicine or a related field.
• Experience in manuscript preparation, ethics applications, research project delivery and health outcomes research.

What we offer

• Three‑year fixed‑term appointment (Level A or Level B) with salary ranging from AUD 86,195 to AUD 146,228 per year plus superannuation.
