Registered Nurse – Rural Community Health Centre

About the role

The Registered Nurse will provide safe, person‑centred nursing care in the rural St Marys Community Health Centre. You will work across emergency, acute, sub‑acute and palliative services, delivering comprehensive assessments and care plans for the local community.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in accordance with NMBA standards and THS policies.
• Provide first‑line emergency response and manage unscheduled presentations in a small rural setting.
• Support chronic disease management and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams.
• Guide and mentor Enrolled Nurses, support staff and students.
• Participate in quality, safety and infection‑prevention initiatives.

Required profile

• Demonstrated clinical competence in emergency and acute nursing within a rural multipurpose facility.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, able to engage respectfully with patients, families and the community.
• Critical thinking and ability to recognise and escalate clinical deterioration.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and care planning in emergency, acute, sub‑acute and palliative settings.
• Emergency response and triage capabilities.
• Knowledge of NMBA Registered Nurse Standards and THS policies.
