Registered Nurse – Primary Healthcare (ACT Health Centre)

About the role

We are looking for a passionate Registered Nurse to join the multidisciplinary team at the ACT Health Centre, providing primary healthcare to Defence members and supporting a 24‑bed low‑dependency ward. The role offers a civilian position within a military environment, delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform health assessments, vaccinations and routine primary‑care services for Defence personnel.
• Monitor and manage patients in the low‑dependency ward, including injury recovery and chronic condition management.
• Collaborate with general practitioners, physiotherapists, mental‑health clinicians and dental professionals to deliver integrated care.
• Participate in preventative health programmes and support patients through rehabilitation.

Required profile

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum one year experience in acute care, primary health care or a military setting.
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009).
• Australian citizenship (baseline security clearance).
• Commitment to continuing professional development and ethical, patient‑centred practice.
• Willingness to work a 24/7 roster as required.
