Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

About the role

A permanent Registered Nurse position in the Emergency Department of a hospital in North West Tasmania, which specialises in high-volume, low-case-weight procedures. The hospital offers Emergency Department, General Medicine, Close Observation Unit, Day Oncology Services, Rehabilitation Services Unit and Specialist Clinics, and is working towards becoming a centre of excellence for short-stay surgery in Tasmania. Maternity services are provided by experienced midwives, with a lactation consultant service also available.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, quality and clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients, families and other health professionals.
• Respond to a wide range of emergency presentations, including trauma and critical illness.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity environment.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong communication skills.
