Regional Fleet and Transport Manager

About the role

This senior leadership position is based in Sydney and oversees a national student transport function across Australia. Reporting to the ANZ Director of Operations, you will drive a transformation agenda to create a safer, more compliant and data‑driven fleet and transport operating model.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of a national fleet and student transport strategy.
• Establish consistent standards, accountabilities and escalation pathways across all sites.
• Manage fleet lifecycle planning, including procurement, leasing, maintenance, replacement and disposal.
• Strengthen compliance with HVNL, Chain of Responsibility, WHS and duty‑of‑care obligations.
• Design and deliver safety programmes covering drivers, volunteers, fatigue, licensing, vehicle inspections and incident management.
• Oversee supplier contracts, service performance and value‑for‑money assessments.
• Own transport systems, telematics, fleet data and reporting, turning data into actionable safety and cost insights.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in bus, coach, public or passenger transport operations, preferably within school or community transport.
• Proven track record in fleet management, heavy‑vehicle operations and transport safety compliance.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in budgets, procurement, contracts and supplier performance.
• Ability to build national consistency across diverse local operating environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management with executive, operational and site teams.
