R&D Manager – Lead Innovation and Technical Excellence

About the role

Join the Building Solutions Division as an R&D Manager and lead a high‑performing team to shape the future of our building products, fasteners and hardware solutions. You will drive new product development, technical excellence, quality performance and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead new product development from concept through design, testing, validation and commercialisation.
• Develop and manage product specifications, technical data, compliance programs and quality systems.
• Coach and develop a small technical and quality team while maintaining a hands‑on approach.
• Partner with key customers such as Bunnings and Mitre 10 to deliver products that meet technical, quality and commercial expectations.
• Drive value engineering, sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in a similar role within building products, construction materials, hardware or manufacturing.
• Proven track record of leading engineering, technical, quality or R&D teams.
• Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.
