Advanced Plant Operator

About the role

Join Zinfra's high‑performing civil construction crew as an Advanced Plant Operator based at the Heathwood depot. You will work hands‑on delivering essential energy and utilities infrastructure across Australia’s east coast, tackling a variety of tasks from excavation to underground cable installation.

Key responsibilities

• Excavate trenches to specification and install pipe and underground services, including fibre optics.
• Shovel and move materials such as asphalt and dirt, load and unload supplies from trucks.
• Maintain a safe, organised work site and operate a range of hand and power tools.
• Read and interpret plans, follow directions from the Crew Leader, and assist with underground service spotting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a similar construction role, actively identifying hazards and applying control measures.
• Strong knowledge of trenching techniques and ability to dig around existing underground services.
• Current HR Driver’s Licence and valid excavator and skid‑steer tickets.
• Desirable: First Aid, Dogging and Confined Space certifications.
