Preconstruction Associate

About the role

McCormack is seeking a Preconstruction Associate to support project design and delivery across Melbourne. You will work closely with design, estimating, project and site management teams, driving projects from planning through to construction.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate pre‑construction activities such as project planning, consultant engagement, design development, tender submissions and handovers.
• Review tender documentation, assess scope and pricing, prepare reports and presentations, and support successful bids.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, designers, estimators and delivery teams to develop briefs, manage documentation, monitor budgets and programmes, and identify risks and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, standards and project requirements to enable seamless handovers.

Required profile

• Qualifications in Building & Construction, Project Management, Architecture, Engineering or related discipline.
• White Card and First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• 3‑5 years experience in Design & Construct, Preconstruction, Design or Project Management.
• Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to read architectural and engineering drawings.

Required skills

• Experience with project management systems such as Buildlogic or Procore.
