Quality Control Officer - PVC Pipe Manufacturing

About the role

A well-established and growing manufacturer of PVC pipes, fittings and extrusion products is looking for an experienced Quality Control Officer for its Caringbah facility. This is a hands-on, full-time role working closely with production and quality teams, suited to someone who enjoys working on the manufacturing floor and has a strong eye for detail.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure products consistently meet specifications, quality standards and customer requirements
• Conduct routine quality inspections and testing of PVC pipe and manufactured products
• Check product dimensions such as diameter, wall thickness and length
• Carry out visual inspections and identify product defects
• Sample and test products throughout production
• Record test results and maintain accurate QC documentation
• Identify and report non-conforming products
• Work with production operators to investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions
• Monitor production against specifications and quality procedures
• Support calibration and maintenance of measuring and testing equipment
• Maintain traceability and quality records and contribute to continuous improvement

Required profile

• Previous experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment
• Experience with plastics, PVC, extrusion, pipe manufacturing or a similar industry is highly regarded
• Ability to work independently while remaining part of a production team
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement

Required skills

• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
• Good understanding of measurements, specifications and tolerances
• Ability to identify quality issues and communicate them clearly to production
• Strong written and computer skills for maintaining quality records
• Experience with Australian Standards and an ISO 9001 quality environment is highly regarded
