Performance Lead - Offshore Drilling

About the role

The Performance Lead enhances operational performance across drilling, completion and subsea phases. The role requires a deep understanding of the overall well project and its objectives, expertise in LEAN methodology, particularly the PDSA cycle, and strong communication and relationship-building skills. It is based in Noble Deliverer and requires Australian nationality.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement operational performance improvements through rig site team planning and learning, and maximise offline activities.
• Monitor performance by recording actual hours, non-productive time (NPT) and invisible lost time (ILT) in the Lookahead/Variance tracker, and update key indicators such as the drilling curve and weekly NPT and ILT graphs.
• Apply LEAN principles and the PDSA cycle, run after-action reviews, pre-phase meetings and lessons learned sessions, and centralise their documentation.
• Engage with customers to align on deliverables and expectations, act as a liaison between clients, drilling contractors and service providers, and build relationships for future contracts.
• Support a collaborative culture, coordinate with service providers and help prepare each phase.
• Help crews prepare risk assessments and work instructions under the contractor's safety management system.
• Maintain consistent formats for performance meeting action trackers and periodic reports, manage the lessons learned tracker and follow up on open actions until they are closed out.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Driller or Assistant Driller on an offshore drilling rig.
• In-depth knowledge of drilling processes and operational improvement strategies.
• Proven leadership, team-building and ability to work in diverse, multicultural environments.
• Ability to challenge the status quo.

Required skills

• Proficiency in LEAN methodology, especially the PDSA cycle.
• Advanced analytical abilities, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
