QA/QC Manager – Electrical Manufacturing

About the role
JLE Group is looking for an experienced QA/QC Manager to lead quality assurance and control across its high‑volume electrical equipment manufacturing and major project delivery. Based in Newcastle, you will shape quality standards, manage project engineers and ensure compliance with client specifications and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001.
- Create project quality plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and related procedures.
- Lead internal and external audits, drive continuous improvement initiatives and manage corrective actions.
- Oversee inspections and testing of materials, equipment and workmanship to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and standards.
- Monitor supplier and subcontractor quality performance and manage procured material quality.
- Track quality metrics, defects and trends; prepare KPI dashboards, production reports and cost analyses for senior management.
- Lead QA/QC personnel, site inspectors and project engineers, providing guidance during project planning.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, procurement and manufacturing teams.
Required profile
- 7–12 years of relevant experience in electrical manufacturing or construction.
- Strong understanding of QA/QC principles and ISO standards, particularly ISO 9001.
- Proven ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and standards.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis capabilities.
- Excellent documentation, reporting and quality‑systems expertise.
- Desirable management experience and knowledge of relevant standards and codes of practice (e.g., GC 21 AS/4000).
