Purchasing Specialist

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support its Mining & Metals business unit in Brisbane. The role focuses on developing and managing project‑specific purchasing documentation, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, and driving effective supplier negotiations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop project master purchasing pro‑forma forms, incorporating legal and commercial terms.
• Prepare, maintain, and monitor bidder lists across all procurement functions.
• Issue and administer purchase orders in line with project needs.
• Participate in negotiations and secure purchase commitments following approved negotiation plans.
• Collaborate with internal teams to forecast purchasing requirements and support planning activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant field.
• 5–8 years of procurement/purchasing experience, or 9–12 years of related work experience.
