Purchasing Assistant

About the role

The Purchasing Assistant will support the provisioning of Coral Expeditions’ vessels, warehouse stock and office supplies. Based in Cairns, Queensland, the role involves handling purchase orders, managing uniform inventories and ensuring a tidy warehouse environment.

Key responsibilities

• Raise Purchase Orders from requisitions for marine provisioning, including hotel, deck and engineering supplies.
• Maintain crew uniform stocks – purchase, receive, issue to crew, arrange dry‑cleaning and record stock movements.
• Monitor and replenish office supplies such as stationery and amenities.
• Perform general stores duties – receiving, dispatching and keeping the warehouse clean.
• Drive a manual ute for stock movements; a Manual Driver’s Licence is essential.
• Carry out additional duties as directed by management.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with suppliers and internal teams.
• Willingness to learn, take direction and work in a dynamic, hands‑on environment.
• Proactive, team‑oriented attitude with flexibility to work varied hours, including public holidays if needed.
• Manual Driver’s Licence (required) and Forklift Licence (desirable).
