Public Areas Cleaner

About the role

Join the Housekeeping team at Mercure Gold Coast Resort and help maintain a clean, welcoming environment for guests and staff across public areas.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation in change rooms, locker rooms, washrooms and team areas.
• Use cleaning chemicals, equipment and supplies safely and efficiently while minimizing waste.
• Keep trolleys, storerooms and equipment organised, stocked and ready for use.
• Complete stocktakes and promptly report any maintenance, equipment or supply issues.
• Support housekeeping with linen and delivery runs, roll‑away beds, cots and moving supplies.
• Collaborate with other departments and assist the wider team when needed.

Required profile

• Experience in a similar cleaning role is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and a service‑focused attitude.
• Reliable, energetic and self‑motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
• Flexible availability across a variety of shifts.
• Good time‑management, organisation and multitasking skills.
