Projects Cost Controller

About the role

The Projects Cost Controller supports the Cost Control Team by ensuring accurate costing for inventory and overheads across multiple mining projects in South America. The role involves maintaining cost forecasts, performing reconciliations, and providing timely cost data to aid strategic and operational decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Support senior cost controllers on multiple projects, reviewing material requisitions and ensuring correct cost coding.
• Maintain and update project budget and forecast spreadsheets in Excel and upload data into the ERP system.
• Monitor project forecasts, track actual costs versus approved budgets, and identify potential cost overruns.
• Prepare monthly variance analysis and distribute site‑wide costs using ERP journal functions.
• Utilise PowerBI reports for month‑end cost reporting and other cost control analyses.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Economics (preferred).
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar cost control role within a mining environment.
• Strong analytical abilities and high attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with PowerBI reporting.
• Familiarity with ERP systems for cost coding and journal entries.
