Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper

About the role

This hands‑on position is for an experienced accountant or senior bookkeeper who will own the finance function of a growing design‑and‑build company in Perth’s Eastern Suburbs. Reporting directly to senior management, you will maintain accurate financial records, ensure compliance and provide insights to support business performance.

Key responsibilities

• End‑to‑end bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, bank and credit‑card reconciliations.
• Payroll processing, month‑end close, journal entries and financial reporting.
• Cash‑flow monitoring, forecasting and BAS/IAS statutory compliance.
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors and advisors; improve financial processes and internal controls.
• Support project costing, job profitability analysis and commercial reporting.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a standalone accountant, company accountant or senior bookkeeper.
• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work independently, proactive problem‑solving and high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships at all business levels.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
