Project Manager – Retail Store Development

About the role

UNIQLO is looking for a Project Manager to own the end‑to‑end delivery of new stores across Australia. You will work closely with the Store Design & Construction Manager and the Global Store Development team to ensure each project meets brand standards, stays on schedule, and remains within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Lead store projects from design and feasibility through construction, handover and opening.
• Manage project budgets, cost reporting, approvals and value‑engineering activities.
• Conduct procurement, evaluate contractors, and oversee all vendor relationships.
• Supervise on‑site construction, enforce quality control, and coordinate timely defect rectification.
• Handle landlord handovers, ensuring base builds and services align with scope.
• Identify and mitigate design and construction risks; manage RFIs and change‑control processes.
• Coordinate information flow between internal teams, consultants, contractors, landlords and suppliers.
• Maintain project governance, documentation, permits and statutory compliance.
• Capture lessons learned and apply improvements to future projects.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience managing retail construction or fit‑out projects, preferably large‑format stores.
• Strong understanding of construction budgets, procurement and risk management.
• Ability to travel interstate as required.
• Tertiary qualification preferred but not essential.
