Project Manager - Mining Operations

About the role

Whitehaven Coal, an ASX-listed Australian coal producer operating mines in the Bowen Basin and NSW, is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join its Project Team at the Blackwater operation. Reporting to the Project Lead, the role manages the planning, execution and delivery of a portfolio of capital and operational projects so they are completed safely, on schedule and within budget, working closely with site teams, contractors, engineers and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of site-based projects
• Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets and resources
• Coordinate contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and statutory requirements
• Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions where needed
• Prepare project reports and communicate progress to stakeholders
• Drive continuous improvement and project execution excellence

Required profile

• Previous relevant mining industry experience
• Demonstrated experience managing construction, infrastructure, maintenance or capital projects in a mining environment
• Proven ability to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget
• Right to work in Australia
