Project Engagement Advisor (Communications & Stakeholder Engagement)

About the role

Six Degrees Executive is recruiting a Project Engagement Advisor (Communications & Stakeholder Engagement) for its infrastructure delivery area in Townsville. The role acts as the go-to engagement person for project teams on major regional projects, providing strategic communications services to technical and professional staff for community engagement, issues management and stakeholder management. It is a temporary position starting in November and running until 28 July 2028, with a possible extension.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate community engagement activities for major projects, giving project managers ongoing strategic advice and developing and implementing communications strategies
• Develop stakeholder management strategies and consult with a wide range of interest groups
• Handle landholder engagement and act as a single contact point for project teams
• Manage community and stakeholder liaison and issues management

Required profile

• Experience and knowledge of community and stakeholder engagement on infrastructure or major projects
• Experience writing ministerial or executive correspondence
• A good understanding of how media, government and regional operations fit together
• The ability to explain technical issues in plain language to landholders and the community

What we offer

• Pay of $69.21 per hour plus superannuation, 36.25 hours per week, PAYG
• Office in the Townsville CBD, with one day working from home once onboarded
