Project Director – Energy Projects

About the role

Samsung C&T is seeking an influential and commercially astute Project Director to lead a portfolio of integrated gas and utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in Western Australia. Based in Perth, you will provide high‑level strategic governance, own project delivery, and act as the primary liaison between executive management, steering committees, and partner organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute delivery and procurement strategies aligned with corporate goals.
• Manage client and stakeholder engagement, ensuring compliance with internal governance and risk frameworks.
• Lead project‑level steering committees, allocate resources, and oversee inter‑project dependencies.
• Serve as the main escalation point for project issues and champion macro‑level approvals.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop project managers and functional leads to build high‑performing teams.
• Own project budgets, monitor expenditures, prepare forecasts and financial reports for senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior project leader on large‑scale energy projects, particularly gas and BESS.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of managing complex contracts and financial objectives.
• Demonstrated ability to engage senior stakeholders, steering committees and executive teams.
• Experience in resource planning, risk mitigation and governance compliance.
