Project Cost Controller

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join the team delivering the $7.1bn Games Venues Infrastructure Program in Queensland. You will ensure financial transparency, manage project costs and support decision‑making for world‑class sports and entertainment venues.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cost control systems, including budgets, forecasts and regular reports.
• Monitor expenditures, analyse cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to assess financial health and performance.
• Prepare cost reports and presentations for stakeholders and assist with change orders and claims.
• Conduct periodic audits of project costs and support teams in understanding financial metrics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of cost control or financial analysis experience in construction or engineering.
• Proven track record of managing project budgets and cost forecasting.

Required skills

• Strong analytical ability with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in cost management software and project management tools.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
