Production Supervisor - Pig Farming

About the role

JBS Pork Australia, part of the global JBS business, is recruiting a Production Supervisor for its Farming Team at the Pyramid Hill site. This full-time position supervises production employees and works closely with the Module / Site Manager on the day-to-day management of the site.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day tasks of piggery employees and provide leadership so production targets are achieved.
• Undertake animal husbandry duties requiring considerable judgement.
• Compile and interpret production records and prepare regular progress reports.
• Integrate maintenance works within production requirements and coordinate the movement of livestock between sites and for market.
• Manage workload in line with staffing variations, environmental factors and weather conditions.
• Assist with staff rostering, help prepare budgets where required, and take on various responsibilities in the Manager's absence.
• Ensure animal welfare standards and APIQ standards are followed, and take part in internal and APIQ audits as required.
• Review annual objectives and KPIs, contribute to key business activities, and follow company policies and work instructions.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Agriculture (Pig Production) as a minimum.
• Extensive practical experience in holistic pig production.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise people effectively.
• Knowledge of WHS, quality assurance, people and culture procedures, and animal welfare regulations.
• Good communication skills, attention to detail, time management, and ability to keep strict confidentiality.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and hold a current driver's licence.
