General Manager - South Australia

About the role

REMONDIS Australia is looking for a General Manager for South Australia, based in Wingfield, to lead its team across multiple sites and drive sustainable resource recovery and waste management solutions across the state. The role covers operations, strategic planning and team development, working closely with local councils, businesses and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the team across South Australia to deliver safe, sustainable and strong operational results, covering large multi-site, multi-discipline environmental services including transfer stations, logistics depots and organics facilities.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, councils, government bodies, regulators and commercial clients.
• Manage safe operations, financial performance, budgets and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards across the state.
• Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence, meeting KPIs and maximising financial outcomes.
• Develop regional business strategies, including resource recovery projects and expansion into new regions.
• Identify growth opportunities through sales, development projects and tenders to meet 2030 targets.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in operations management or similar senior roles.
• Strong background in waste management, environmental services or related industries.
• Tertiary qualification in business, engineering or environmental sciences preferred.

Required skills

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Financial acumen with experience managing large budgets and P&L responsibility.
• Experience steering development projects to completion on time and within budget.
• Understanding of Australian environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
