Piggery Attendant

About the role

JBS Pork Australia, part of the global JBS business, is recruiting a Piggery Attendant for its Farming Team at the Pyramid Hill site. This full-time position supports the team by caring for company livestock and carrying out basic maintenance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide care, feed and water for stock, and care for sick or injured stock
• Apply animal identification systems, move, draft and weigh stock, and administer routine treatments
• Perform standard artificial breeding procedures and transport stock, feed and equipment
• Operate farm vehicles, plant, machinery and equipment, and perform routine maintenance on machinery, sheds, fences and surroundings
• Update manual and electronic production records and interpret data
• Clean accommodation pens, buildings and amenities
• Follow all company policies, procedures and work instructions, and carry out other duties as directed

Required profile

• Previous experience working with animals preferred but not essential
• Sound work ethic with high self-motivation
• Willingness to work some weekends and public holidays
• Fitness level to cope with the physical nature of the role
• High commitment to animal welfare

Required skills

• Working knowledge of WHS and QA
• Medical assessment required, including a drug screen
