Production Manager

About the role

CSR is seeking a proactive and organised Production Manager for its manufacturing site in Yarraville. The role supports daily production activities, coordinates key operational processes, drives compliance and ensures site initiatives are delivered. It suits someone wanting a long-term career in manufacturing, working closely with an experienced Manufacturing Manager, with a clear succession pathway into a future manufacturing leadership role.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Shift Supervisors and Maintenance teams so production schedules are met and operational issues are resolved quickly.
• Monitor and report site KPIs to support performance improvement.
• Coordinate and support site projects, ensuring actions, documentation and implementation are completed.
• Manage and update Work Instructions, JSEAs and SOPs so they stay current.
• Oversee training compliance, including records, RTO requirements, competency tracking and multi-skilling programs.
• Support workforce capability through training progression and succession planning.
• Coordinate maintenance work requests and follow up on outstanding actions.
• Oversee workflows, labour hire coordination, housekeeping and operations within the regrade shed.
• Identify process improvement and standardisation opportunities with production and operational teams.
• Provide relief support to the Manufacturing Manager and build leadership capability through hands-on involvement.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management or a related discipline.
• Experience in manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, supply chain or operational environments is highly regarded.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills, comfortable working across production, maintenance, safety and training functions.
