Production Engineer – 18‑Month Contract

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Production Engineer on an 18‑month contract to apply advanced manufacturing and quality engineering techniques on the production line. You will work cross‑functionally with Final Test, NPI, Systems Engineering, R&D and Quality Engineering to drive data‑validated improvements in yield, quality and throughput.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day engineering support for production, test and calibration issues.
• Lead structured investigations into recurring failures and implement corrective actions.
• Identify and act on opportunities to improve quality, yield, throughput and production efficiency.
• Analyse production capacity, bottlenecks and operational risks, recommending practical actions.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, NPI, Systems Engineering and R&D to resolve cross‑functional issues.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing or related engineering discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience supporting manufacturing or production in an engineering role.
• Strong hands‑on troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and ability to work independently.
• Proactive, accountable and able to influence stakeholders.
