Procurement Specialist

About the role

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking a mid‑level Procurement Specialist to join the Sustainment Operations Business Unit. The role will support the delivery of aircraft maintenance and upgrade programmes by managing supplier relationships and executing tactical sourcing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end procurement for assigned defence programmes, from requisition to receipt.
• Conduct supplier selection, evaluation and performance monitoring, maintaining accurate metrics.
• Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies, ethical sourcing standards and Australian defence regulations.
• Track purchase orders, expedite deliveries, resolve discrepancies and maintain contract records in SAP/Oracle.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance cost‑effectiveness and delivery timelines.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing or supplier management, preferably in a defence or aerospace environment.
• Australian citizenship to meet Defence security requirements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Results‑oriented, organized and able to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Experience with RFQs and RFPs, issuing purchase orders and contract management.
• Proficiency in procurement/ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
