Procurement Manager

About the role

McDermott Aviation is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead its Supply Chain Team. You will oversee the cost‑effective acquisition of aviation parts, materials, consumables, equipment and services that support a growing global helicopter operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, train and develop a team of procurement specialists.
• Identify, evaluate and select local and international suppliers for goods, materials and services.
• Manage the online parts requisition system, track purchase orders and report delivery status to relevant departments.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships, negotiating on quality, price and availability.
• Monitor market trends, price fluctuations and emerging suppliers to optimise purchasing decisions.
• Ensure compliance with CASA/FAA regulations and internal policies.
• Prepare and present regular reports on purchasing activity, open purchase orders, costs and performance metrics.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement and team leadership, preferably in aviation, aerospace or manufacturing.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong time‑management and a commercially focused mindset.
• Excellent communication, influencing and relationship‑building abilities.
• Strong administration, problem‑solving skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, growing environment.
• Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
