Principal Broker – Corporate & Commercial

About the role

Marsh Risk is looking for an experienced Principal Broker to join its Corporate & Commercial team in Cairns (or Townsville). This hybrid position requires at least three days a week in the office and offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of complex insurance risks.

Key responsibilities

• Grow a corporate/commercial portfolio of revenue‑generating accounts while delivering high‑quality customer service.
• Develop, pursue and convert new business opportunities, including large tenders and proposals.
• On‑board new clients, maintain senior insurer relationships, and lead renewal and broking strategies.
• Ensure effective account retention, defense strategies, and active participation in claim‑related matters.

Required profile

• 5+ years of commercial broking experience managing corporate or commercial portfolios.
• Proven track record of generating new business and expanding existing accounts.
• Strong market presence within General Insurance and a robust network of contacts.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of insurance products and risk assessment for key industry sectors.
• Ability to design and place complex insurance programmes.
