About the role
A local hatchery in Goulburn is hiring a full-time Poultry Hatchery Assistant. The work covers the process line, from receiving and preparing eggs for incubation through to getting day-old chicks ready for transport to customer farms. Full-time shifts start at 10am, rostered according to business needs, and career progression is offered after training.
Key responsibilities
- Receive and prepare eggs for incubation
- Incubate eggs
- Grade, vaccinate and count chicks
- Prepare, package and ship day-old chicks
- Clean hatcher processing areas and carry out other tasks associated with getting chicks ready for transport
Required profile
- Physically fit
- Ability to pass a drug screen
- Positive work ethic demonstrated by past work references
- No live birds, pigs or other livestock kept at home
- No previous experience required; on-the-job training is provided
