Non-Trade Gardener (Permanent)

About the role

Warren Shire Council is seeking a motivated, reliable and hands-on Non-Trade Gardener to join its team and help maintain and beautify its parks, gardens, reserves, ovals and cemeteries. The position is full time and permanent, with applications closing when filled.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain parks, gardens, ovals and public spaces
• Operate plant and equipment, including trucks and backhoes
• Carry out mowing, pruning, landscaping, planting and weed control
• Perform concreting, paving, painting and general construction work
• Keep public spaces clean, tidy, safe and well presented
• Organise daily equipment and material needs and ensure machinery is operated safely and kept in good working order

• Practical, reliable and safety-conscious approach to work
• Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team
• Good communication and a positive, customer-focused attitude
• Ability to follow instructions, organise daily tasks and use resources responsibly
• Willingness to undertake training and develop skills
• General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
• Class C licence

What we offer

• Salary of $1118.30 to $1297.23 per week depending on qualifications and experience
• Adverse working conditions allowance and other allowances as required
• Superannuation at 12% under the superannuation guarantee
• 9-day fortnight flexitime system (38-hour week)
• Leave provisions as per the Local Government (State) Award
