Pool Lifeguard - Casual

About the role

PCYC Innisfail is seeking a responsible and energetic casual Pool Lifeguard to look after the safety and well-being of pool patrons at its pool. Multiple positions are available, and the advertised pay is $41.84 per hour (junior rates may apply). Shortlisting starts immediately and the advert may close early.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain vigilant supervision of all aquatic facility users
• Prevent incidents and respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies
• Support a positive customer experience through professional conduct and clear communication
• Promote safe aquatic practices and help create a welcoming atmosphere for everyone

Required profile

• Current Pool Lifeguard certificate, or willingness to obtain one
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain one
• Experience in a similar role is highly desirable
• A Pool Plant Operators Certificate and a Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Certificate are highly desirable but not essential
• Working With Children Check (Blue Card) is required; a National Police check is completed on commencement

Required skills

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders
• Ability to stay calm and make clear decisions in high-pressure or emergency situations
• Ability to stay focused during shifts and spot early signs of distress or rule violations
