Plant Maintenance Electrician – Planner (Regional Queensland)

About the role

Queensland Rail is seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Electrician – Planner to join its Asset Maintenance team in Toowoomba (or Maryborough). The role combines hands‑on electrical work with planning and coordination across a wide regional footprint, ensuring rail plant equipment remains safe, reliable and compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement maintenance plans for electrical plant and equipment.
• Schedule works, allocate resources and adjust plans to meet operational priorities.
• Perform low‑voltage and extra‑low‑voltage inspections, preventative maintenance and fault finding.
• Respond to breakdowns and carry out corrective repairs on rail plant.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to achieve performance targets.

Required profile

• Electrical Fitter/Mechanic Trade Certificate.
• Current manual driver’s licence.
• Strong safety focus and ability to travel throughout regional Queensland.
• Experience in planning, scheduling and resource management for plant maintenance.
