Planning Officer (Port Logistics)

About the role

Aurizon, Australia's largest rail freight operator, is hiring a Planning Officer in Port Adelaide. The role supports port logistics by ensuring planning systems, purchasing and compliance processes are delivered accurately and in line with operational needs. It is permanent part-time (minimum 60 hours per fortnight, GWE) with no set roster, covering days, afternoons, nights and weekends (24/7 coverage).

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date data and records in logistics systems to support operational planning.
• Deliver high-quality customer service by resolving issues and working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with operational standards, including NHVR, customs and biosecurity requirements.
• Support purchasing and planning tasks to align with customer agreements and business targets.
• Monitor service levels and provide updates to meet internal and external reporting requirements.

Required profile

• No prior experience required; recent graduates and early-career applicants are welcome.
• Willingness to learn and ask questions.
• Flexibility to work changing shifts, including afternoons, nights and weekends, sometimes at short notice.
• Ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
