Planning Manager - Forecast, Demand & S&OP

About the role

Pact Group's Packaging division partners with global brands and local dairy producers to integrate supply chain efficiency and sustainability into what it designs and manufactures. Reporting to the Plant Manager of Closures and Speciality, the Planning Manager is responsible for forecast, demand and supply planning and the S&OP process, acting as the link between supply planning and manufacturing scheduling to improve stock availability and ensure the right products arrive on time.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the forecast compilation process, including the short-term weekly plan and the long-term forecast (three or more months)
• Manage a large number of suppliers with long lead times
• Implement supply chain improvement initiatives to improve forecast accuracy and inventory levels
• Perform root-cause analysis of key service issues, forecast errors and bias to drive continuous plan improvement
• Work closely with production and suppliers to maximise production planning and capacity, especially during peak periods

Required profile

• Formal qualification in a Supply Chain or Manufacturing-related discipline
• Production planning background, ideally gained in a FMCG or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Ability to question the status quo and challenge the business positively
