Pharmacy Resident (Hospital)

About the role

The Pharmacy Resident position provides early‑career pharmacists with a structured two‑year professional development program within Children’s Health Queensland. Residents rotate across multiple pharmacy work units, delivering high‑quality medication management services to children and young people while completing the Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) training program.

Key responsibilities

• Provide quality pharmacy services on a rotational basis to inpatient, outpatient, hospital‑in‑the‑home, cancer care, and other specialised pharmacy services.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the health service to ensure safe, person‑centred medication care.
• Complete all mandatory components of the Advanced Pharmacy Australia Resident training, including portfolio development and experiential learning.
• Adhere to safety, quality, and governance standards in all pharmacy activities.

Required profile

• Recently registered pharmacist (maximum three years post‑intern year) with eligibility for hospital pharmacy practice.
• Willingness to commit to a fixed‑term engagement of up to two years.
• Strong interest in advancing clinical pharmacy skills and pursuing further professional recognition through ANZCAP.
