People Partner (12‑month maternity leave contract)

About the role

Join the People & Payroll team at Salter Brothers Hospitality as a People Partner on a 12‑month maternity leave contract. Based in the Central Services office in Fortitude Valley, you will work closely with operational leaders to provide trusted HR advice, support organisational initiatives, and help maintain a high‑performing culture across our luxury hotel portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice and support on people‑related matters, policies, procedures and employment legislation.
• Prepare employment contracts, variations, VEVO checks and related documentation.
• Support WorkCover claims management and facilitate return‑to‑work programs.
• Coach leaders through performance management processes and monitor compliance with legislation and industrial instruments.
• Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and prepare People metrics and reports for decision‑making.
• Assist with the implementation, review and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures and initiatives.
• Provide administrative support across the People function and contribute to HR projects that enhance the employee experience.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in an HR generalist or coordinator role, preferably in hotel/hospitality.
• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline (desired).
• Proven ability to manage grievances, investigations and performance management matters.
• Strong relationship‑building skills and ability to work with all levels of the business.
• High level of confidentiality, attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
