Payroll Officer

About the role

Icon Oncology Group is looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join its Brisbane payroll team, working from the National Head Office on the CBD fringe. The team processes payroll for the Australia and New Zealand workforce across Cancer Care, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical, Core Services and Research. The role is permanent and full-time, covering end-to-end payroll processing, employee lifecycle transactions, payroll reconciliations, enquiries and accurate employee records.

Key responsibilities

• Process fortnightly payroll so employees are paid accurately and on time
• Maintain employee payroll records and handle lifecycle transactions such as new starters, variations, leave and terminations
• Interpret Awards, Enterprise Agreements, payroll legislation and company policies to ensure compliant outcomes
• Review and reconcile payroll data, investigate discrepancies and resolve queries
• Advise employees, managers and stakeholders on pay, leave, taxation and superannuation
• Identify improvements to payroll processes, controls and system use

Required profile

• Proven experience processing end-to-end payroll, with attention to accuracy, compliance and deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
• Experience investigating payroll queries and reconciling payroll data
• Strong communication skills for advising stakeholders

Required skills

• Knowledge of Awards, Enterprise Agreements and payroll legislation
• Practical experience with payroll and workforce management systems such as iChris/Chris21 (preferred), Humanforce or similar
