Payroll Officer - Dayforce

About the role

A well-known NSW state government organisation based in Parramatta is looking for a Payroll Officer through Randstad on a 6-month temporary assignment, with high potential for extension or permanent conversion. The role is paid $600 plus super per day and offers hybrid working flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Process timely, accurate payroll across employees and contractors, validating timesheets, leave, deductions, garnishings, superannuation and payment files.
• Ensure compliance with labour laws, enterprise agreements and internal policies, manage audit queries, final pays and STP reporting.
• Resolve Tier 1 and Tier 2 payroll queries within SLAs, giving clear guidance on leave, pay calculations and People & Culture policies.
• Handle off-cycle runs, overpayment recoveries, workers' compensation, lump sums and ad-hoc or variance reporting.
• Assist with payroll system upgrades, testing and reconciliations, and identify ways to improve process efficiency and accuracy.
• Work with HR and finance teams to support peak workloads, help with task allocation and uphold organisational values.

Required profile

• End-to-end payroll processing experience.
• Experience with the Dayforce payroll system (essential).
• No qualification required.
