Part-Time Demi Chef - Novotel Sydney City Centre

About the role

The Demi Chef is based at the Birdie Bar & Brasserie, the restaurant of Novotel Sydney City Centre, located in the heart of Sydney near Darling Harbour and The Rocks. It is a part-time position working alongside a team, preparing food that makes guests smile.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook all food orders according to kitchen recipes and standards, with a sense of urgency
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness and equipment care
• Monitor stock requirements, minimise wastage and support food cost control
• Assist with menu preparation and make sure supplies are available for service
• Lead by example, support the kitchen team and help train and develop apprentices
• Communicate proactively with the Head Chef/Supervisor to keep service smooth and productive

Required profile

• Trade qualification and experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel environment
• Valid Australian working rights
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
