Packaging Manager – Berri

About the role

Vinarchy is seeking an experienced Packaging Manager to lead a 24/5 packaging operation at its Berri site. Reporting to the Packaging Manager AU, you will be responsible for delivering production on time, within specification and budget across still wine, sparkling wine and cask lines.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver production activities according to plan and budget, driving machine efficiency and labour productivity.
• Promote continuous improvement, lean manufacturing principles and a quality‑first culture.
• Lead, coach and develop the packaging team, managing performance, safety and attendance.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, BRC, ISO9000, ISO14000 and internal audit requirements.
• Support budgeting, capital planning, workforce rostering and operational reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years functional management experience in a large‑scale, multi‑shift packaging production environment.
• Demonstrated leadership capability with strong business and financial acumen.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, Food Technology or Business Management is desirable.
• Current driver’s licence and flexibility to work outside normal hours.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.
• Experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
