Operations Coordinator

About the role

Captain Cook Cruises, part of the Journey Beyond Group, is looking for an Operations Coordinator to help deliver its daily marine operations smoothly and efficiently. The role coordinates vessel movements, monitors daily schedules, liaises with key stakeholders and supports workforce planning through staff rostering and activity coordination. It is based on site in Perth.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate vessel schedules, crew rosters and daily operational activities.
• Monitor weather, tides and operational changes, adjusting schedules as required.
• Communicate timetable updates and operational issues to key stakeholders.
• Liaise with vessel crews, managers, port authorities and external partners.
• Coordinate crew training, inductions, qualifications and compliance records.
• Provide operational support and contribute to safe, efficient service delivery.
• Maintain a strong focus on health, safety and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Strong organisational skills, able to manage schedules, rosters and competing priorities.
• Able to work calmly under pressure and adapt to changing operational needs.
• Willingness to work weekends, public holidays and school holiday periods.
• Knowledge of the tourism or marine industry, experience in administration, logistics, shipping or marine operations, and understanding of crew training, induction and compliance are highly regarded.
