Operational Purchasing Specialist

About the role

Metso is seeking an Operational Purchasing Specialist to manage the full quotation and order lifecycle for its mining equipment business in Australia. The role focuses on delivering fast, accurate quotations, expediting orders, and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Handle customer enquiries courteously and respond within the same business day.
• Issue quotations for standard parts to customers within 48 hours.
• Manage the quotation and order backlog throughout the entire order life‑cycle.
• Expedite orders and provide timely feedback to customers.
• Support the Specialist Order Execution team during high‑volume periods.
• Process inquiries, quotations, sales orders, and customer claims.
• Implement quality‑assurance and quality‑control documentation according to Metso supply standards.
• Use telephone, Microsoft Teams, and the Salesforce CRM to communicate with customers and internal teams.
• Participate in weekly team meetings and coordinate with Site Account Managers on upcoming shutdowns and events.
• Own day‑to‑day customer relationships and ensure a positive experience.

Required profile

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain detailed records.
