Nursing Unit Manager (Palliative Care & Rehabilitation Ward)

About the role

Calvary Riverina Private Hospital is looking for a Nurse Unit Manager (Level 2) to join its clinical leadership team as manager of a combined palliative care and rehabilitation ward, including the outpatient rehabilitation service. This is a full-time position working across business hours Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Clinical leadership and patient care oversight, setting clinical standards and supervising nursing practice
• Staff management and workforce planning, including rostering, recruitment, performance management, education and skill mix
• Management of ward flow (admissions, discharges, bed allocation), oversight of resources and budgets
• Drive quality improvement, compliance and patient safety initiatives

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary nursing qualifications and current AHPRA registration
• Current Working with Children Check
• Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience in public and/or private acute healthcare
• Proven experience as a senior clinical leader leading diverse interdisciplinary teams
• Understanding of quality improvement and accreditation standards
• Understanding of contemporary rehabilitation practice and programs and/or palliative care is desirable
• Experience managing key performance indicators within budget
• Experience in change management, workplace culture and workforce engagement
