About the role

Skilled Nursing, a nursing division of Skilled Medical, is recruiting a permanent Nurse Unit Manager for the Flinders Island Multi-Purpose Centre in Tasmania. The centre is a multipurpose facility offering 24-hour emergency care, 5 sub-acute beds, 9 residential aged care beds, community nursing, a day centre and visiting medical specialists and allied health, and it also oversees a community health clinic on Truwana/Cape Barren Island serving a remote Aboriginal community. The role leads and mentors nursing and care staff across Flinders and Cape Barren Islands.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor nursing and care staff across Flinders and Cape Barren Islands
• Oversee clinical operations and ensure compliance with aged care and hospital quality and safety standards
• Manage staff rosters and resource allocation
• Drive quality improvement activities and evidence-based practice
• Support staff development through coaching and professional growth opportunities
