Nurse Practitioner - Perinatal Wellbeing Team (Addiction and Mental Health)

About the role

Metro South Health's Perinatal Wellbeing Team is recruiting a temporary part-time Nurse Practitioner to lead specialist mental health care for women with moderate to severe mental health challenges during pregnancy and up to 12 months after birth. The role covers Logan, Beaudesert and Redland and leads nurse-led care in the Perinatal Wellbeing Team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct advanced mental health assessments, diagnose conditions and deliver individualised treatment, including medication prescribing and referral within your approved scope of practice.
• Work with psychiatrists, GPs, obstetricians, midwives, child health nurses and allied health professionals to deliver integrated, person-centred support.
• Develop care pathways, strengthen nurse-led models of care and lead quality improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and educate clinicians, promote evidence-based practice and contribute to research, service development and innovation in perinatal mental health.

Required profile

• Experienced Nurse Practitioner with advanced clinical expertise in addiction and mental health nursing.
• Strong clinical judgement, collaborative leadership and a commitment to safe, compassionate, evidence-based care.
• Ability to assess, diagnose and manage complex presentations using advanced practice skills.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary collaboration, mentor clinicians and use clinical data, research and quality improvement principles to improve care.
