Nurse Counsellor (Registered Nurse) – Breastscreen – Temp PT/Casual

About the role

This temporary part‑time or casual position supports the Breastscreen Clinic in Liverpool by providing compassionate nursing care and counselling to women diagnosed with breast cancer and their families. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth patient flow through assessment, imaging, pathology and follow‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate appointments, imaging and pathology to maintain efficient clinic flow.
• Communicate results promptly and liaise with health professionals to gather clinical information.
• Maintain accurate client records and use reporting systems to track patient pathways.
• Provide person‑centred communication, support, information and counselling to patients and families.
• Follow up recalls, missed appointments and ensure timely completion of documentation.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Recent experience in a BreastScreen or similar clinical environment.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Commitment to professional standards, NSW Health Code of Conduct and ethical practice.
• Willingness to model respectful behaviour and contribute to a positive team culture.

Required skills

• Proficiency in clinical documentation and reporting systems.
• Ability to manage patient pathways and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
